The Fear of the Lord

Psalm 128:1 says, “How blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in His ways.”

The rest of the psalm talks about some of the blessing this man will know. His wife will be like a fruitful vine in his home and his children like precious olive plants around his table. What a great family that pictures.

But what does it mean to fear the Lord? It speaks of a reverential awe of God – to have a high view of God. The idea is that God has your attention. You are listening to what He says so that you can do it. That’s what the verse says. The man who fears the Lord walks in His ways.

To fear the Lord you need to study the Bible and you need to cut it straight.

At Believers Fellowship we want to help you develop a healthy fear of the Lord. Feel free to visit us and check us out online at believers-fellowship.org.
