Children Are Like Arrows

Yesterday my grandson turned 2. The Bible tells us that children and our children’s children are all blessings from the Lord. They are a gift from God and God only gives good gifts. Each child is a special gift given specifically by God to the parents.

The Bible also tells us, though, that we have a responsibility in the parenting of our children. The Bible says they are like arrows in the hand of a warrior. An arrow in Bible times started as a stick. You had to fashion that stick into an arrow, then direct the arrow, and release it. So it is with children. Along with loving them as good gifts we need to instruct, correct, direct, and then release them into the world where they can have an impact for the Lord.
