Have You Received Christ?

We are looking this week at that incredible passage in Titus 3:4-7 which describes the saving work of God. This text clearly says, “He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness. “ We did nothing to save ourselves. God did it all.

Today let’s consider the fact that, as these verses tell us, God saved us by His love. The word that is translated love is the Greek word that we get our word philanthropy from. It is a word that speaks of pity and compassion. This word describes a willingness to deliver from distress because of a strong affection.

And this love has appeared to mankind. How did it appear? In the person of Jesus Christ. The love of God for mankind appeared in the coming of Christ – but it does you no good unless you have placed your faith in Christ. Have you received Christ?
